National

DandamudiRajagopalaRao:
DandamudiRajagopalaRao (b: 16 October, 1916 - d: 6 August, 1981) was renowned sports person of India.
He was born in Gandigunta village in Krishna district in a family of farmers. Impressed by the performance of KodiRammurthy Naidu, he took up the line of Weight Lifting. He was trained by SistlaSomayajulu in Weight lifting for some time.Later He traveled with KolliRangadasu and gave many performances in different Indian states.
In 1946 won 1st place in XII Olympic games of India held in Bangalore in heavy weight class. He has represented India in International competitions held in Burma in 1947.
He won Gold medal in Indian Olympic Games held at Delhi in 1952. He has lifted 780 pounds in the Heavyweight category. In 1954 Indian Olympics he has won Gold medal and established three Records.
He won Bronze medal in 1951 Asian Games held in New Delhi in Weightlifting. Dandamudi was a Indian weightlifting champion for 13 years from 1945 to 58. Dandamudi won Mr.Asia title in 1948 at Calcutta in Asian body building competition. He was the 1st president of Andhra Olympic Association. He has been the captain of Andhra Olympic team.He was the Founder of Andhra Olympic Association and Several other Sports Associations in Andhra Pradesh.
He has represented India thrice in the Olympic games held in London (1948) and Melbourne (1956) and represented India in the Heavyweight category of Weightlifting. He has got 16th rank in final standings in London Olympics and 9th rank in Melbourne Olympics . He has also Participated in Finland Olympics in 1952.
Dandamudi was conferred with various titles as AndhraBhima, AndhraHercules , Indian Tarzan and The Giant of India. Dandamudi feats attracted people all over the country. He used to break iron chains tied to his body by taking a deep breath and flexing his muscles.
He died on 6 August 1981. An Indoor Stadium was named after him as DandamudiRajagopalRao Indoor Stadium in his memory at Vijayawada near Krishna District.
SusheelNarla :
(DOB : 7-Dec-1976) He was the National Champion in Tennis in 1996, he won the title at the age of 19 yrs only. He was the youngest player who won " IndianMen’s National Singles Title in Tennis". He was the first player from Andhra Pradesh who played for India in Davis Cup Tennis (1992).

M.S.K.Prasad :
(DOB : 24-April-1975) M.S.K.Prasad was born in Guntur. He is the Wicket Keeper of AP Cricket Team. He was the Captain of Andhra Ranji Cricket team for 5 years, and he had played for Indian cricket team in 6 tests (15 catches) and 17 ODIs (13 catches and 8 stumpings) in 1998 and 1999 seasons and also scored many runs in domestic cricket.

NeelimaChowdary :
NeelimaChowdary was the former National Badminton Champion. She won Junior Girls doubles National in 1996 and Women’s Doubles in 2002.

MovvaShyamsundarRao :
He was a member of Indian Vollyball team played in 1974 Asian Games. He won 'Arjuna' Award in 1974 and ' Dronacharya' Award in 1995. He was the coach for Indian Vollyball team in the Jr.World Champ.

ArikapudiRamanaRao :
He was a member of Indian Vollyball team played in 1974 Asian Games. He won 'Arjuna' Award in 1977 and 'Dronacharya' Award in 1990. He also served as the National Coach for Indian Vollyball team.

NekkantiVenkataRao :
NekkantiVenkataRao was the Former player of AndharaRanji Cricket Team. He was the Member of BCCI from South Zone and Ex 'Vice President' of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI).

V.ChamundeswaraNath :
He was the Former Andhra Ranji Cricket Captain and also he is the Chairman of BCCI junior selection committee and Andhra Ranji selection committee.

Ravi Kanakamedala :
Ravi Kanakamedala, has been appointed as physiotherapist of Indian Hockey team. Nevertheless, Ravi resigned as the physiotherapist of the Tasmanian state hockey team. Ravi who has had a career graph that spans multiple countries. Ravi was born in Tenali (Andhra Pradesh). He obtained his Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from the MGR Institute of Medical Research in Chennai. In 1999, Ravi left for his Masters at Auckland, where his link with hockey was first established. Ravi trained under the Kiwi hockey team's renowned physiotherapist, Wayne Hing. Ravi eventually became a New Zealand citizen.

NarenKumar :
V. R. Naren Kumar is a seven-time INRC Rally Champion and Two time runner-up from Coimbatore, India.
Kumar started his career in Team MRF, operated by another Rally driver N. Leelakrishnan. He briefly appeared (with a promising drive) in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 for the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship, until bogged down with sponsorship. Currently driving (re-appeared after 4 years) in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship as a privateer (Team Rally India), he is again set to attack the WRC championship (in Groun N Category) driving a factory supported works Subaru Impreza World Rally Car for Team Sidvin India (supported by Four time WRC Rally Champion TommiMakinen.
In India, he won four championships for Team MRF, including an Asia Zone Championship in Honda Civic then switched to Team JK, who themselves reappeared into the rallying scene after a seven-year gap, just to sponsor Naren and won another two championships. Yet Naren won the 2005 crown for JK in a rally tyre pulled out of their old stock.
He won the National Championships in the years 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2000, 1999 and Runner-up in 2001 and 2004 which was mainly due APRC Commitments. In 2005 the Italian team and Fiat/Lanciatuning specialist Abarth offered a drive for Naren. But he could not raise the required sponsorship at that time and opted for APRC.

7 time National Rally Championship winner, up to 1600 CC (Formula -3) for Team MRF

VinayKamineni :
Ranked number one in India in U14 (2004)...Top 10 in India in U18 (2008).Top rank of #289 in ITF juniors (2008) while reaching finals of ITF Grade 5 tournament in Eygpt (Aug. 2008) and winning doubles in ITF Grade Three tournament in Malaysia (Oct. 2008).

Cherukuri Lenin (Gold medalist, Asian Archery Championship):
Cherukuri Lenin won an Asian Gold medal in the Asian Archery Championship in New Delhi- 2006. Incidentally, he was the only archer from the State to don the Indian colours and help the country win its first gold in the Olympic round by defeating Chinese archers.

Karnati Harsh :
KarnatiHarsha created flutter at Singapore by winning the `Asian under-9 Schools chess championship' 2006by garnering 7.5 points out of the maximum nine points. "He had six wins and three draws in the tournament in which 60-odd players from Asia-Pacific countries, such as South Korea, Australia, China, Singapore and Malaysia

YalamanchiliSandeep :
YalamanchiliSandeep won silver medal in under-14 Asian youth chess championship, New Delhi - 2006. Incidentally, Sandeep won both individual championship and team gold in the Asian Youth under-12 championship held at Singapore in 2004.

MandavaDivija :
DivijaMandava of Andhra Pradesh won both the girls' under-16 and 14 titles in the Junior National tennis super series at Kolkatta in 2006.MandavaDivija won the girls singles title in an ITF tennis tournament in Sri Lanka in 2008.

Pinnamaneni Lakshmi Sahiti :
Pinnamaneni Lakshmi Sahiti is winner of the National Sub-Junior Championship, 2005. She also won Asian under-10 girls Championship. In 2006 she won under-16 Asian Youth Chess Championship which concluded in Kyrgyzstan.

GuttikondaPradeep :
GuttikondaPradeep born on October 27, 1983 is former Captain of Indian Volley Team. He is a member of the team that came runner's up in the U-19 world youth championship. He is one of the best blockers the Indian team has produced.
The six-foot five-inch tall blocker was adjudged the best player in the Rashid international tournament held in Dubai last year, the best all-rounder in 2008 for Dubai Club, which he represents in the Emirates and the best blocker in the Test series against Pakistan in 2007.

SingaRao, The former Captain, Indian Vollyball team. He represented India in many International Vollyball events.

KogantiSwetha :
Former captain of the Indian Women's Kabaddi team, KogantiSwetha, who was instrumental in winning the Gold medal at the First Asian Women's Kabaddi meet in Hyderabad.

NidhiSurapaneni :
Top seed NidhiSurapaneni of AP won the U-14 girls’ singles at the AITA junior tennis championship series 2011. The girls' doubles under 14 title also went to NidhiSurapaneni of Andhra Pradesh and Shreya Das of West Bengal.

PaladuguSaiTeja :
SaitejaPaladugu won the Asian under-14 title in the Riffa Views Cup 2007, Bahrain “Asian 14/U Series” Tournament. He along with RiyotoThachi (Japan) defeated Khurran (Pakistan) and Teen (Vietnam) by 7-6, 6-4 in the final.
PaladuguSaiTeja bagged a double, winning the singles and doubles titles in the Asian under-14 tennis championship.
Kommineni Krishna Mohan :
Kommineni Krishna Mohan clocked a national record of 14.00 seconds in the 110 meters hurdles in the 48th National inter-State athletics championships 2009.
Running into a headwind measuring one metre per second, Krishnamohan, a 26-year-old Havildar from Artillery, cruised through to the record that bettered Naunidh Singh’s mark of 14.05s set in Hyderabad in 2005.
